So you’re spoiled with venue options!
Well, the most popular venue here is the beach venue…
Imagine saying “I do” with your toes in the sand as the waves crash behind you!
For receptions, they have a private area that’s set up just for weddings with a dance floor, bar & buffet tables.
Don’t want the beach? If you have your heart set on a reception by the pool, they can make that happen too.
The pool deck has a private area that overlooks the beach & is big enough to accommodate up to 100 guests.
But one of the most unique things about getting married in Mexico is being able to get married by a cenote.
If you’re not familiar, a cenote is a natural sinkhole that’s filled with fresh water.
They’re usually found in the jungle & they’re absolutely gorgeous.
The cenote at Secrets Moxche is no exception.
It’s surrounded by lush vegetation & has a thatched-roof palapa that’s perfect for your ceremony or reception.
4. Gay Weddings
Secrets Moxche is a proud supporter of gay weddings.
They offer all of the same packages & services to LGBT+ couples as they do to heterosexual couples.
If you’re trying to tie the knot here, we recommend having a symbolic ceremony.
Legal weddings take a bit of extra planning & foreign paperwork…
So most couples make it legal in their home state since it’s easier.
But if you want a legal wedding, it’s still possible!

The beach at Secrets Moxche isn’t great.
But, there are plenty of beach umbrellas & loungers to go around so you can usually find a spot to relax in to read a book with your drink a margarita.
If you get hungry, you can just head over to the beach grill for a bite.
They serve burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches & salads.
Or if you’re in the mood for Mexican food, they have a stand that serves tacos, quesadillas & nachos!

For casual dining, they have a buffet, a grill & a café.

- Located in Playa del Carmen, so you get to take advantage of the famous 5th ave to enjoy shops, restaurants, and nightlife.
- No smoking in any public areas or even on your balcony.
and there are some CONS…
What we don’t love:
- The beach is not the best but many other options to swim!
- Adults-only resort so no wedding with kids!
- On the pricey side compared to other resorts in the area.
- Food is pretty average.
- Not good for smokers. No smoking in public areas whatsoever, even on your own balcony.

I’d also note that a HUGE con is they only allow 6 external guests. Most resorts allow 10-20% external guests of your wedding guest number but this resort doesn’t. I’m not sure why but they were very adamant we can only have 6
