Before anything else: Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay is closed since Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica in late October 2025.
And current estimates put reopening in Q1 2027.
So if you’re researching this resort for an upcoming wedding, that’s the first thing you need to know.
Everything else in this post is reference material for once the resort reopens.
I’ve had many couples ask me about this resort.
So I still want to walk you through what makes it worth waiting for the reopening.

First off, let’s talk location.
Secrets Wild Orchid boasts a prime beachfront setting, offering you breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea.
The lush tropical surroundings are perfect for a dreamy destination wedding.
I found the accommodations at Secrets Wild Orchid nothing short of luxurious.
It’s an all-suites resort with tastefully decorated suites having all the modern amenities.
But the real highlight of the resort is the endless fun activities!
From enjoying cocktails by the pool and themed events to snorkeling and paddleboarding, there’s never a dull moment here!
Plus it’s got an array of restaurants, ranging from gourmet international cuisine to authentic Jamaican flavors.
If you have an existing reservation, you have 2 paths.

Or you can cancel entirely without penalty.
If you were considering this resort for a wedding you haven’t booked yet, I’d hold off on locking in anything until there’s a confirmed reopening date.

For $4,849, you get:
- Service of judge or minister.
- Semi-private rehearsal dinner for 10 max.
- Wedding organization and on-site wedding coordinator.
- Preparation and ironing of the couple’s wedding day attire.
- Bouquet(s) and/or boutonniere(s) for wedding couple.
- Sound system with 1 speaker and 1 microphone.
- Wedding cake and sparkling wine.

The suite comes equipped with a cozy sitting area, a plush bed, and a spacious bathroom complete with a rejuvenating tub.
And did I mention the fully stocked minibar?!
Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay’s got 4 fabulous pools to splash around in.
With the infinity pool, main sunset hot tub, and Preferred Club pools, the fun never ends here!
I especially enjoyed the introductory scuba lessons right in the pool.
And you get access to the pools at Secrets St. James as well.
You’ll find over a mile of private beach here.
There are ample seating options, and complimentary nonmotorized water sports equipment.
Before closure, guests had access to 10 restaurants and 9 bars.
You could indulge in flavorful Jamaican dishes, or explore a global menu that was seriously tempting.
Plus you had access to the restaurants and bars at the neighboring Secrets St. James resort.
