For your wedding ceremony, you can choose from a variety of locations including the beach, gazebo or terrace.
Reception options include the ballroom, which can accommodate up to 250 guests.

1. Sun-Kissed Wedding Package
Price: $899 USD or complimentary
This package is great for intimate weddings of up to 10 guests staying at the resort.
It includes:
- Wedding organization & personal touch of on-site wedding coordinator
- Preparation & ironing of couple’s wedding day attire
- Symbolic ceremony
- Service of judge or minister (additional costs apply)
- Bouquet(s) and/or boutonniere(s) for wedding couple
- Wedding cake and sparkling wine toast (for up to 10 guests staying at resort)
- Special turndown service the night of the wedding
- 15% off spa treatments*
- Newlywed Package

Located in the heart of the resort, this beautiful chapel is perfect if you’re looking for a more traditional ceremony.
3. Barefoot Grill

For a fun & casual reception or cocktail, the Barefoot Grill is the perfect spot.
You can dance the night away under the stars with your toes in the sand!
4. Ballroom

9. What Brides & Grooms Said...
“Our Mayan ceremony on the beach was more than we expected, it was beautiful. We upgraded the romantic dinner on our wedding night to steak and lobster and we ate on the beach! The beach is gorgeous!
Our room was upgraded and we were in awe when we entered. We had a full view of the ocean, the bed was comfortable and the AC kept our room basically freezing. The beaches at the resort are beautiful and there are many pools to post up for the day!
Pros:
- Budget Friendly
- Drinks included (so much Tequila)
- Super friendly staff- the staff was wonderful and most called us by name!
- Pool Bars
- Cheap Massages in the Spa – I recommend Claudia
- Live Music/ Movie Nights
- Appeared to be very family friendly, my husband and I traveled alone.
- Additional Restaurants were fairly close by
- Covid-19 tests on site prior to travel- it was easy
- Peacocks and Iguanas on site
Cons:
- Cabs leaving the resort were expensive!
- Food at the resort became very boring some not so tasty
- The building needs some TLC in some areas
Over all we had a wonderful time at this resort. Yes, we were on a budget but we accomplished our dream wedding. I hope they will step up their food game but I give their staff 5 stars. We do not have plans to travel at this time but if we do go back to Mexico we would consider going back!” – Mel

We have to admit, overall the Sunscape Akumal Beach Resort is a lovely budget-friendly, all-inclusive resort for smaller weddings.

Things we love:
- Small & cozy.
- A real oceanfront resort…right on the beach.
- Affordable.
- Very comfortable beds.
- Kid-friendly. (The kids LOVE Dinoland pool)
- Plus, the staff is super friendly.
But there are a few CONS…
Things we don’t love:
- Only 2 a-la-carte restaurants. It comes with the “smaller resort” territory. Compare that with other resorts with 8-12 a-la-carte restaurants and you start feeling like there aren’t many food options.
- Standard rooms are very standard. Upgrading to the Sun Club is a must.
- Over 1.2h away from the airport or 58 miles.
