For your wedding guests, we recommend the Deluxe Junior Suite. This 50-square-meter suite accommodates up to 4 people and features 2 double beds, a sofa bed, a living and sitting area, a dining area and a resort-view balcony. Additional features include a pillowtop mattress, duvet, USB outlets, a desk, a safe, iron and ironing board, a marble bathroom with shower, bathrobes and slippers. Rollaway beds aren't permitted, although one crib is allowed.

For newlyweds, I recommend the Premium Junior Suite. It offers the same 50-square-meter layout as the Deluxe Junior Suite, but comes with 1 king-size bed and a sofa bed. The suite includes a resort-view balcony, living and dining areas, and a privacy wall separating the sleeping and living spaces. The Premium Junior Suite also includes evening turndown service, which is a thoughtful addition for wedding couples.

Couples celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary or milestone birthday can arrange special in-room amenities, including a bottle of chilled champagne and a bouquet of fresh flowers upon arrival.

Dining & Drinks

Dining options over here range from Costa Rican specialties and seafood to Asian-inspired dishes, Italian cuisine, international buffets and casual poolside bites. The resort also includes wellness-focused options such as the Westin Eat Well Menu for Kids, Westin Fresh by the Juicery and the Sleep Well Menu, which features foods containing amino acids, vitamins and minerals associated with rest and recovery.

Manglar Seafood serves fresh seafood, salads and house-made salsas while Cauri Lobby Bar & Bistro offers tapas in an open-air setting with views of Guanacaste. My favorite is their Evil Geisha that's made with sake, Grand Marnier or passion fruit juice. Bamboo specializes in Asian-inspired cuisine with dishes such as steamed beef gyoza and Pad Thai. Spirula Trattoria serves pasta and wood-fired pizzas near the beach. La Sabana celebrates Costa Rican cuisine with traditional recipes and fresh, locally sourced ingredients, while Faisanella has international cuisine. El Ranchito's a casual restaurant and bar near the main pool, serving quick bites.

The course was created to preserve and enhance the natural landscape, with lakes, ravines, manicured Bermuda-grass greens and challenging tee shots. The resort's large freshwater pool is one of the largest in Central America. Its free-form lagoon-style design includes a whirlpool, children's pool, lounge chairs and umbrellas. The floodlit tennis court is surrounded by the landscaped grounds of its golf course and is suitable for both beginners and experienced players. And the WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio has weight machines, free weights and cardio equipment with individual television screens. Guests can also participate in daily fitness classes and enjoy complimentary bottled water. For those who prefer exercising outdoors, the RunWESTIN program offers self-guided jogging and walking routes.
