Choose a Wedding Venue

Expansive all-inclusive resort on Bávaro Beach with beautiful suites, family-friendly fun, and romantic venues that work wonderfully for destination weddings.

Grand Bávaro Princess all-inclusive resort feels like a little world of its own. The property stretches across an ecological complex where native vegetation and local wildlife are carefully preserved. And it took us about 40 minutes to reach the resort from the Punta Cana International Airport.

There are multiple swimming pools, tennis and pickleball courts, yoga and dance classes, water sports, an eco area with walking trails, and a full entertainment program featuring daytime activities and evening shows. Families have access to the Kids Club, children's pools, and supervised activities, while adults can unwind at the spa, enjoy the casino, or head to the Movie Disco Club. So whether you're planning a destination wedding or turning the celebration into a week-long Caribbean getaway, Grand Bávaro Princess makes it easy to do both.

Accommodations

Grand Bávaro Princess has 1,290 rooms spread throughout its ecological grounds. We found that the rooms were spacious and modern, and many were surrounded by tropical greenery.

For wedding guests, we checked out, and recommend, the Family Club Junior Suite. At 53 square metres, these suites are designed with families in mind. They come with 1 king bed and a triple bunk bed. They can accommodate up to 5 guests and include perks like robes and slippers for both adults and children, a minibar stocked with water, soft drinks, beer, juices and chocolate milk, a private reception area, children's bathroom amenities, beach towels, and a balcony or terrace. Families staying here also enjoy access to the private Princess Family Club area, which includes exclusive pools, slides, and child-friendly facilities. We feel these suites are perfect for wedding guests travelling with children or even small groups attending the celebration together.

For newlyweds, our pick is the Honeymoon Platinum Suite. These adults-only suites are reserved for guests aged 18 and above and offer a romantic, secluded experience. Each suite features a round bed, a hot tub, Platinum services, an espresso machine, premium minibar, luxury bathroom amenities, and a balcony or terrace. You also get private check-in, 24-hour room service, turn-down service, concierge assistance, late check-out subject to availability, and access to the Platinum Beach Club. Newlyweds also receive a romantic dinner with a commemorative photo, a surprise gift, and discounts at the spa.

The Platinum area deserves a mention of its own. It offers premium rooms and exclusive facilities. Platinum guests also enjoy their own swimming pool, reception lounge, premium drinks, beach club, internal transportation, and priority reservations at à la carte restaurants.

Dining & Drinks

During our stay, food was one of the highlights! The resort has 11 themed restaurants, 3 buffets, a pizzeria, snack bars, food trucks, a coffee shop, and an impressive collection of bars. There's cuisines from all over the world, including Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Indian, seafood, sushi fusion, and Argentine steakhouse favourites. Last time we visited, we tried the Sicilian pizza and Hawaiian pizza at Focaccia Pizzeria. And yes, pineapple on pizza is controversial, but both were delicious and we'd happily order them again! The restaurant also serves pasta and lasagne, but we did not try those. You will also enjoy the live cooking shows at Tanuki Teppanyaki. Their Wasabi restaurant offers sushi, noodles, starters, and Nikkei cuisine inspired by Japanese and Peruvian flavours. And if you're craving Indian food, Samsara absolutely delivers. Their Malabari fish curry was one of our favourites. Are you a vegetarian? Then you have to try their chana masala and aloo samosas. La Hacienda serves authentic Mexican dishes and honestly we don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. La Hispaniola and Trapiche offer buffet dining. The resort also features Café del Mar, an à la carte gourmet restaurant. We couldn't try it during our last visit, but several of our couples have raved about their experiences there. It's definitely on our list for next time. Bars at this resort include the Main Bar in the lobby with live music, the Larimar Wet Bar in the main pool, the Beach Bar Truck, and the Theater Bar for evening shows.

Activities & Entertainment

The entertainment program at this resort runs throughout the day and evening, with activities taking place by the pool, on the beach, and across the resort grounds. Sports enthusiasts have access to tennis courts, pickleball courts, basketball, football, volleyball, archery, table tennis, yoga, Zumba, Pilates, salsa lessons, bachata, merengue classes, and a fully equipped gym. We are a bunch of water babies! So we enjoyed kayaking, catamarans, snorkelling, water polo, aqua-gym, and even an introductory scuba diving lesson in the pool.

Additional activities available at an extra charge include parasailing, fishing, windsurfing, scuba diving excursions, snorkelling trips, and motorised water sports. The resort has multiple swimming pools, including family pools, a chill-out pool, children’s pools with slides and water games, and exclusive pools for Platinum guests. The eco-friendly area with walking trails is another feature we really enjoyed. Then there's the Kids Club which welcomes children aged 4 to 12 and includes a pirate ship, slides, games, arts and crafts, treasure hunts, dancing, and group activities. There are dedicated children's pools and an entertainment team that keeps younger guests busy throughout the day.

During our stay, our evenings were just as lively. There were professional theatre shows, live music, and themed entertainment. We also visited the Avalon Casino. It offers poker, blackjack, roulette, baccarat, slot machines, and dice games.

What's Nearby?

There's plenty to do beyond the resort. We went on a day trip to Saona Island and enjoyed its crystal-clear waters and amazing beaches. If you love adventure, you can head to Scape Park to swim in the famous Hoyo Azul cenote, zipline through the jungle, or explore caves. Catamaran cruises, buggy tours to Macao Beach, horseback riding, and lively nights at Coco Bongo Punta Cana are also popular. Of course, a lot of my teammates were perfectly happy spending their days on beautiful Bávaro Beach.
