5-Star wellness resort offering holistic experiences, ocean-view suites, and personalized wellness experiences for your destination weddings.
Palmaïa - The House of AïA is unlike any other all-inclusive resort on the Riviera Maya. Existing peacefully between the dense jungle and the Caribbean Sea, it has a different kind of vacation experience, one centered around wellness, personal growth, nature, and mindful luxury. Whether you're just beginning your wellness journey or already have meditation, yoga, and holistic living woven into your daily lives, Palmaïa welcomes you with open arms.
What stood out most to us is how naturally everything flows. The jungle, the ocean, the wildlife, the wellness programming, and even the food, all feel connected to a larger purpose. And we recommend it to wedding couples who are searching for something meaningful rather than traditional. From intimate beachfront ceremonies and personalized wedding experiences to daily rituals, sound healing sessions, and nature-inspired accommodations, every part of the resort has been thoughtfully designed to help you reconnect with yourselves, each other, and the world around you. And that's a pretty great way to start the next chapter of your lives, don't you think?
Palmaïa has 234 cruelty-free oceanfront suites, each thoughtfully designed to create a strong connection with the natural surroundings. So what does 'cruelty-free' mean exactly? We asked the same. Basically, all suites here are free of animal-derived products.
For wedding groups, we recommend their Queen Suite Ocean View. Accommodating up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child, it features 2 queen beds, a comfortable sofa, and a terrace overlooking the sea. The spacious bathroom includes a walk-in overhead shower, twin basins, and illuminated vanity mirrors.
As for the newlyweds, we recommend their King Suite Swim Out. It has direct access from its private terrace to the infinity pool. Plus it offers 538 square feet of stylish living space, complete with a king-size bed, a luxurious bathroom with a walk-in shower, an oval soaking bathtub, vanity mirrors, and plenty of thoughtful touches.
As mentioned earlier, the resort's pretty serious about your health and wellness. But don't worry, they don't sacrifice flavor! Every meal served at the resort's 5 restaurants is designed to nourish while still feeling indulgent. You can enjoy thoughtfully prepared menus that celebrate fresh ingredients and mindful eating.
We love how wellness isn't just an amenity here. It's woven into everyday life. Through the resort's AïA\Wellness program, you get access to a collection of experiences designed to support health and personal growth. The program is built around 4 interconnected pathways that encourage a balanced and integrated approach to well-being. And all of this probably sounds intense, but trust us, it isn't. Every activity, interaction, and experience has been intentionally designed to help you develop wellness practices that you can incorporate into your daily lives once you go back home. Daily sessions include yoga, meditation, sound healing, holistic rituals, and wellness experiences led by experienced guides. And the best part is that you can choose the level of participation that feels right for you.
Families are equally well looked after. The Children's Center offers engaging activities that keep younger guests entertained, giving parents time to enjoy the resort's wellness experiences, or simply enjoy a little quiet time.
We loved how the surrounding landscape over here is alive with wildlife, from coatis, spider monkeys, armadillos, iguanas, and sereques roaming the grounds to colorful birds including parrots, toucans, cuckoos, frigates, and great blue herons. Along the shoreline, we spotted sea turtles.
One of Palmaïa's most remarkable features is Atlantis Spa. It's a sanctuary hidden within ancient rock formations, mangroves, jungle vegetation, and natural cenotes. The setting alone feels worlds away from everyday life. Drawing from indigenous healing traditions, the spa offers treatments performed by skilled healers whose knowledge, we were told, has been passed down through generations. You can experience traditional ceremonies such as temazcal rituals and cenote immersions, alongside a wide range of modern wellness treatments. Then there's also the Avalon Beauty Salon, the pools and cenotes, and the mini aqua park. Did we mention the Jungle Gym and Fitness Center?
When we reached out to the resort's team, we were informed that there are no wedding packages. Instead, every celebration here is planned à la carte, giving you the flexibility to create an experience that feels completely your own. Palmaïa specializes in holistic rituals and wellness-inspired celebrations. They do not offer legal or religious wedding ceremonies. Wedding groups can include up to 80 guests. And the music you use for your celebrations should complement the resort's wellness-focused atmosphere. So it's subject to approval. Event furniture is not provided by the resort and will need to be rented through an external vendor. Because Palmaïa does not offer in-house wedding planning services, they recommend working with a professional wedding planner. But the resort does provide support through a dedicated group coordinator to assist with guest accommodations and group logistics.
Know that all wedding attendees must be staying at the resort in order to participate in the celebration. To qualify for group rates and discounts, a minimum booking of 10 rooms for 3 nights is required.
Please note that beginning November 1, 2026, Palmaïa will welcome guests aged 10 and older. Children aged 9 and under will not be permitted to stay at the resort.
