Thinking about getting married at Finest Playa Mujeres?
This is one of the resorts I recommend quite often, especially to couples planning a family-friendly destination wedding.
That said, no resort is perfect.
Over the years, my colleagues and I at ParadiseWeddings.com have planned 1000s of destination weddings across Mexico.
And we’ve learned exactly who Finest is best suited for, and who might be happier elsewhere.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through the wedding packages, venues, costs, and the things I always tell my couples before they book.
Finest Playa Mujeres Wedding Review
1. Hotel Overview

Finest Playa Mujeres is located in the gated community of Playa Mujeres, away from the crowds of Cancun’s Hotel Zone.
It’s roughly just 45 minutes north of Cancun International Airport.
With over 400 rooms, multiple restaurants and bars, and broad activity offerings, it’s one of my go-to picks for wedding groups with a wide age range.
Young kids and grandparents, both find something to do here.
Its adults-only sister resort, Excellence Playa Mujeres, sits right next door.
So if part of your group wants an adults-only stay during the wedding trip, they can book their stay here.
2. Wedding Packages
Finest Playa Mujeres offers 2 different packages to choose from.
Each of these can be customized to create your perfect day.
2 wedding packages include:
- Lovebirds – possibly free, or $950 for you 2
- Everlasting Memories – $5,500 – $7,000
Everlasting Memories
This is the one I recommend to my couples. You’ll see why 👇
It includes:
- On-site assistance by our wedding coordinators.
- Bride’s hairstyling and makeup for the ceremony.
- Minister service (Symbolic Ceremony)
- Beach venue or gazebo overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
- Standard ceremony décor.
- 1-hour cocktail party with hors d’oeuvres and open bar after the ceremony.
- Private reception dinner for 4 hours.
- Sparkling wine during dinner for main toast.
- Wedding cake.
- Sound system for the ceremony.
- Romantic or Caribbean music trio (45 mins.)

Finest Playa Mujeres has 6 wedding venues to choose from.
From intimate beach ceremonies to grand ballroom receptions, they have it all!

1. The Beach
This is a popular choice for couples who want a romantic & intimate ceremony.
Plus, the views of the Caribbean Sea are absolutely stunning!
And it can accommodate about 120 guests.
2. Stone Gazebo
If you’re looking for something a little more unique, this is a great option.
It’s located just off the beach with beautiful views & decor to leave your guests in awe.
3. The Grand Palapa
This is a traditional thatched-roof palapa located on the beach.
It has space for up to 150 guests and is a popular choice for receptions.
4. Sky Bar Terrace
For couples who want an unforgettable reception with a view, the Sky Bar Terrace is the perfect choice.
It’s located on the top floor of the resort with panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea.
And it can host 60-80 guests.
5. Las Dunas Beach House
This is a beautiful beachfront venue.
It’s a great choice for couples who want an elegant & intimate reception.
It can accommodate 50-80 guests.
6. Convention Center
The Convention Center is my pick for a large, more traditional or formal reception.
If you’re planning a large & luxurious wedding, this venue is perfect since it can accommodate around 120 guests.
4. Gay Weddings
Finest Playa Mujeres is a proud supporter of gay marriages.
They offer all of the same services & amenities to same-sex couples as they do to heterosexual couples.
Couples usually have a symbolic ceremony since legal paperwork is easier to do at home.

5. Room Types
The resort has a variety of room types.
All suites start at 800 sqft with spacious private terraces & modern interiors.

The Finest suites start at $351 per night and include a variety of room types.

With an Excellence Club suite, you’ll also get access to members-only lounge areas & beaches.
Prices start at $399/night.

From volleyball to kayaking, you’ll find something to suit your needs.
7. Food & Drink
The resort has 13 restaurants & 12 bars, so you’ll never go hungry or thirsty.
There’s a wide variety of cuisines to choose from, including Mexican, Italian, Japanese, and more.

10. Why I Like It
Ok, without mincing my words, here’s what I honestly feel…
Things I love:
- The rooms are beautiful.
- The food is high quality.
- There’s so much to do.
- Gorgeous wedding venues and boho vibe on the beach.
- Wedding packages are really affordable too.
However, there are a couple of things to keep in mind…
Things I don’t love:
- This is a large resort with over 400 rooms, so it can feel crowded at times.
- It’s located in a remote area, so getting around can be difficult with pricey taxis.
- It can be challenging to get a wedding date. They book up quickly!
- Rooms are expensive compared to similar resorts!
Overall, this is a great choice for couples looking for a beautiful, all-inclusive beach resort with plenty of activities.
