Royalton Riviera Cancun is a luxury, all-inclusive resort located in the heart of Mexico’s Riviera Maya.
With world-class amenities, and impeccable service, it’s no wonder this hotel is a popular choice for destination weddings!
Our wedding specialist Pamela told me, “I love the lobby entrance – it’s on higher ground, giving you this awesome view of the resort and the ocean! So beautiful!”
The Royalton has 840 rooms, including suites and villas.
Plus, there are a total of 21 restaurants & bars on-site.
Some of the top amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, spa, and kids club.
They offer daily activities & nightly entertainment, so there’s always something to do!
2. Wedding Packages
3 Wedding Packages:
Royalton Riviera Cancun offers you 3 magnificent wedding packages.
- Luxury Wedding – possibly free for 10 guests
- Refined Wedding – $4,199 for 30 guests
- Exclusive Wedding – $11,199 for 40 guests
Depending on the package, you can add more guests for $20 to $120 per person.
Their Luxury Complimentary Wedding is a great option for couples on a budget!
It starts at $999 or FREE if you book a minimum of 35 room nights or 14 room nights in the Diamond Club category.
75% of your wedding group need to stay at the property to qualify for the free package.
This package includes:
- 10 guests
- A personal wedding planner & onsite coordinator
- VIP welcome & late checkout for bride & groom (based on availability)
- Bride & groom room upgrade (based on availability)
- “Getting Ready” refreshments & fruit platter for the couple on wedding day
- 10% discount on spa services for entire wedding group
- Ceremony location (excluding Sky Terraces)
- Symbolic ceremony (can upgrade to a civil ceremony for an additional fee)
- Chairs included
- Sound system
- 1 tropical bridal bouquet & 1 groom’s boutonniere
- Ceremony table with linen & tropical centrepiece

3. Ceremony & Reception Venues
Our wedding specialist Alison says, “Royalton has a variety of venues to choose from!”
For your ceremony, you get 4 options:
1. Beach
Maximum capacity: 300 guests
Hear the waves crashing as you exchange your vows with the sand between your toes.
This is a great option if you want a truly romantic ceremony.
2. Ocean View Gazebo
Maximum capacity: 80 guests
Say “I do” while surrounded by lush gardens and the Caribbean Sea in the distance.
3. Sky Wedding
Maximum capacity: 90 guests
This is their rooftop terrace that offers panoramic views of the resort, the ocean, and Puerto Morelos.
4. Sky Wedding at Hideaway
Maximum capacity: 70 guests
This is an adults-only rooftop terrace with a pool, bar, and breathtaking views.
For your reception, you have even more options!
You can choose to have it in 1 of their many restaurants, terraces, or on the beach.
If you want an intimate gathering to celebrate your special day, their Hideaway terrace is perfect.
It has a capacity of up to 40 guests and offers an intimate setting with beautiful views of the resort!
4. Gay Weddings
Royalton Riviera Cancun is a gay-friendly resort that welcomes all couples!
They offer the same packages to same-sex couples as they do to heterosexual couples.
A popular option for couples is to have a symbolic ceremony in Mexico and a legal one back home.
It makes for an easier process and you won’t have to deal with foreign paperwork.
If you prefer a civil ceremony, it can totally happen with a little extra help.

They have everything from water sports to cooking classes.

And if you’re looking for evening entertainment, they have live music & shows.

Things we don’t love:
- Beach is not the best – water is always brownish.
- The wedding department is notoriously non-responsive.
- Sells out a lot, often 1 year in advance (it’s that damn sky terrace!)
- Requires a booking of minimum 4 nights.
- Many weird room categories. 🤔
