Kayla was helping host a volleyball BBQ back in April 2022, and Johnny spotted the event on social media. Being the outgoing guy he is, Johnny showed up, introduced himself to Kayla, and before the day was over, he had her number, all in the name of "subbing for other volleyball games" of course. And yes, Kayla did sub in his volleyball league…but the chemistry was undeniable! Fast forward to a dreamy weekend getaway for Kayla’s birthday in Puerto Morelos, and Johnny had a beach photoshoot planned that turned into the sweetest proposal.

The idea of a wedding in Mexico was a no-brainer for these two. Johnny always imagined saying "I do" on the beach, Kayla wanted something outdoorsy, and neither of them wanted to break the bank. Enter Dreams Vista Cancun, where all-inclusive perks made planning (and celebrating) a total breeze.

Wanting to keep things small and meaningful, Kayla and Johnny invited just their closest family and friends. The reception wasn’t short on meaningful moments either. A Chinese Tea Ceremony allowed them to honor their elders and soak in all the advice and blessings for their marriage.
