We spent 3 months just talking on the phone before our first date!
Kayla and Devon first connected on a dating app in 2020.
With travel restrictions and lockdowns in full swing, their relationship blossomed through long phone calls for 3 whole months before they finally met in person. Their love of travel eventually brought them to Costa Rica, where Devon popped the question at sunrise on Playa Hermosa Beach in Dominical. When it came time to pick a wedding location, the answer was easy.
Kayla and Devon had grown up in different states and lived in several others, so no matter where they chose, guests would have to travel. A tropical and fun destination like Mexico just made the most sense. They landed on Dreams Tulum, and it delivered! After a week of on-and-off rain, the wedding day was all sunshine and blue skies.
The ceremony took place on the resort’s stunning rooftop with ocean views and colorful tropical decor in pinks, reds, and bright greens. The reception was held outdoors in a lush garden with fun personal touches like a tequila shot seating chart and signature margaritas (naturally!). There were tacos, there was dancing, and at the end of the night, a whole lot of happy guests who didn’t want the party to end.
